Victor is an MA candidate at the USF Patel College of Global Sustainability. He is currently situated in India, working for the Auroville Bamboo Research Centre and designing the future site of a 6-acre Bamboo Eco-village that will replenish an arid land with a bamboo forest, restore and preserve a dried out lake and reconnect surrounding cultures and people. His research involves Sustainable Community Design & Natural Building and his life mission is to reintegrate the human ecosystem with the natural ecosystem in a way that enhances the well being and quality of life for all. He strongly believes in preserving ancient settlement patterns that promote social cohesion and ecological assimilation and improving upon these lifestyles with the benefits of modern science, technology and communication systems. Victor is a Colombian-American, fluent in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. In addition to the US, Colombia and India, he lived in China for 2 years working for the Chinese Travel Channel. His diverse experiences in multiple countries gives him a unique perspective from which to approach the interdisciplinary nature of the most pressing sustainability issues of the 21st Century.
